Match Report

The Lothian League Lions bounced back with a solid win over Pleasance BC. The theme for the Lions this week was movement and energy, both were on full display from the opening tip to the final buzzer. For the second week in a row the Lions started the scoring with a steal and layup, this time provided by man of the match Víctor González Bernat. In his final game as a Lion this season, he set the tone with his defensive and offensive effort which included a block to force a 24 second violation, finishing a tough drive around the basket and netting a couple three pointers when the team needed them. The first quarter saw the Lions get in foul trouble, which helped Pleasance stay close as they hit their free throws. The second quarter ball movement provided excellent looks for the Lions who took advantage and built a 20 point lead at half. The second half saw the same intensity on both ends of the floor. The Lions veteran impact was felt as Team Captain Luca Fasan hit his patented back to back threes and Dimitrios Kolyperas first action of the season saw him shake and bake his way to 9 points which included a bank 3 from Steph Curry range. The Lions get the win and improve to 4-1 on the season.
